Background and engineering practice

The professional context behind the public work: enterprise interfaces, AI-assisted delivery, and experience running a business.

About

Operator first, engineer second, in that order

I am a senior software engineer at Deluxe Corporation, where I own frontend architecture on R360+, a cash-application and receivables platform serving millions of payment records. I have spent eight-plus years building software for the web, including React and TypeScript systems across fintech, retail at Walmart Global Tech, and consulting.

I pay attention to work a team has learned to repeat: slow builds, fragile local setup, or the same behavior maintained in several applications. At Deluxe, I independently investigated our delivery pipeline and brought build times from approximately 30–45 minutes to 5–10 minutes. I also owned the frontend of a demonstration with a deliberate path to real backend services; our team subsequently developed the product and onboarded three trial customers.

I work at the edge where AI meets production software. I lead adoption of AI-assisted engineering, author agent skills and MCP tooling, and publish open-source projects including Skillcheck, a static skill reviewer with injection-pattern checks; PixelParity, a Chrome Web Store extension; and Agent Engineering Rules (AER), a project-local CLI for Claude Code and OpenAI Codex.

My first career was commercial: CEO, general manager, business analyst, and international sales, backed by a BBA in International Business. I build software the way operators run businesses: completely, simply, and accountable to results.

Experience

Enterprise fintech scale, with a founder's instincts

Eight-plus years of production software, preceded by years of running products, sales, and operations. The business years weren't a detour; they're why the engineering lands.

    Deluxe Corporation

    Senior Software Engineer (SWE 5)

    • Own frontend architecture on R360+, Deluxe's cash-application and receivables platform built with React, TypeScript, .NET, and AWS, serving millions of payment records for enterprise clients.
    • Owned the frontend and mock/live service boundary for a Deluxe Exchange demonstration, working with a backend counterpart. The team developed the cash-application microfrontend into a customer-usable product and subsequently onboarded three trial customers.
    • Independently investigated and modernized Harness pipelines, reducing build times from approximately 30–45 minutes to 5–10 minutes. Other projects subsequently adopted the same approaches.
    • Created and maintain a shared development-only Docker setup, automated startup, and onboarding documentation for an environment spanning approximately 14 microfrontends. Review and pairing help engineers strengthen React, TypeScript, state management, and testing practices.
    • Scaled AI-assisted engineering workflows across five teams and 20+ engineers: reusable agent skills, MCP-based tooling, and modular engineering rules that standardize context, verification, and production-readiness checks for LLM-generated code.

    • Ran product, operations, sales, and client relationships as a web developer and business operator at Remedi Medical Solutions; UX and SEO work drove ~20% conversion uplift.
    • Analyzed international trade data in Python as a business analyst and grew qualified sales leads ~25%. P&L instincts before pull requests.

AI, in production

Build with it. Govern it. Prove it.

An operating practice, not a research résumé. I use LLMs to build faster, and I build the guardrails that keep the output trustworthy.
